We’re headed to Kazakhstan & Kyrgyzstan on the adventure of a lifetime! Inside Jewish Kazakhstan & Kyrgyzstan gives you an inside look at these vibrant and growing Jewish communities. Breathe in fresh mountain air on a hike around Big Almaty lake, engage with elderly clients from the Jewish Community Center of Almaty, and visit Osh Bazaar, one of the largest bazaars in Bishkek. Inside Jewish Kazakhstan & Kyrgyzstan gives you a chance to see JDC’s work in the Former Soviet Union first hand and learn about the value of global Jewish responsibility.

  • Learn about the Jewish history of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, and their vibrant and growing Jewish communities.
  • See the history of JDC’s work in the FSU with your own eyes.
  • Explore the Jewish volunteer movement in Bishkek, and meet with people who’ve made it their lifelong mission to do good for others.
  • Engage with elderly clients of the Jewish Community Center of Almaty and see first hand the impact and history of this lively population.
  • Join a community event at the Almaty Moishe House with local young adults and Jewish professionals.
  • Breathe in fresh mountain air on a hike around Big Almaty lake, famous for its milky-blue water.
  • Visit Osh Bazaar, one of the largest bazaars in Bishkek, and immerse yourself in the local city rhythm.

Jconnect Seattle is a pluralistic community for Jewish 20-30-somethings, offering young adults the opportunity to build relationships, engage in Jewish life and holiday celebrations, and explore Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. With monthly events for Shabbat and holidays, plus opportunities for social justice work, outdoor activities, arts and culture, and leadership development, Jconnect connects hundreds of Jewish young adults in Puget Sound.
